Summer 2010

Summer 2010

The sun brings out the gardener in me, I love to feel of soil in my fingers and grass between my toes. Admittedly I do not spend as much time in the studio as I should. Although I am constantly thinking of my next project. I think they call that procrastinating…

My latest posted picture (Weathering the Storm) is one I did several years ago; it is acrylic painted on wood, inspired by a bird outside of my balcony in the Mayan Rivera.

A tropical storm was rolling in, the bird perched on a barren tree, shoulders hunched, do birds have shoulders? Please say yes!

You get the picture… in a manner of speaking.

Quanity or Quality

Quanity or Quality

I have been mulling over quanity over quality… It has occurred to me that my portfolio is not as vast as I expected.

Quality over quanity has become my focus, in art, relationships and life. It is a small life lesson , that has been told from the cradle.

I just happen to remember it!

The Unknown

I recently had the pleasure of taking another coloured pencil class, this time in portraits with Eileen F. Sorg.
The class was intense and rewarding, certainly inspired me to get back in my studio. I have been asked several times “Why I found the class intense”? After all isn’t art intuitive! My answer is; I have been called an intuitive artist, though learning new skills, techniques and mastering them is intense. I look forward to continuing creating new piece’s.
Check in in a week or so for my latest coloured pencil class project! The Unknown….
