Victorian Sunset
Acrylic - In Private Collection
Sunrise was done as a class, Victorian Sunset was painted after, as a gift.
The sun setting, the rise of smoke from the chimney and fog settling in for the night, invites you in for a warm cup of cider.
The painting shown here is full of personal symbolism, I invite you to have a closer look.
I’d love to hear, what you see.

Angels on the rooftop! This evokes memories of the old Hyde farmhouse in the winter except for the portch and gables, can picture Lorena, Bud, Bob and I running around in the snow, with Deb and Brian crawling around Grandma’s feet indoors! The glow in the window is coming from oil lamps ouf course.
I am truly blown away by all of your art, hope you don’t mind if I pass this website on to friends.
My sincerest hope is that this piece of art will be passed down through the generations. That the knowledge of the personal touches will pass along with the picture, and will give the future generations a closer warmth and knowledge of the past generations. I love looking at the details.
Thanks for your comments! It is was a very personal piece to paint.
Roxanne – this is my all time favourite – the picture reminds me of my grandmothers place in Manitoba and all the warm feelings I felt when I visited as a child – love it. You are very talented and I am just wow’d (is that a word). Judy
